"Just us and Nibbles?" He looks back to him then with those blue-gray eyes of his. "That what you want? How you wanna spend it?"

[hippie_ninja]

"Just us, and Nibbles, and whoever delivers our dinner." He can cook, but mostly stew, and he isn't sure he'll come up with a better menu before then. "Is that what you want? Or do you want to go out, the two of us?"

[fireshow]

"I don't need fancy," it's said with a shake of his head. "Just you is enough... you've always been enough." The time they've spent together, while they've usually been inside — in one of their rooms, it's never been boring or not enough for him. Chalk it up to him not having had much to begin with.

There is a certain advantage in having been disadvantaged, both of them.

"I'm happy with just us." They've talked about going out to parties together, and he's open to it, but he won't complain a bit if it's just them at home, drawing or writing or fucking or talking.

[fireshow]

"Guessing you want me to spend the night that night?" Brows raised, he lets his hands slip away from the other man's arms and, instead, come to rest at the small of his back, standing there with him and almost swaying a little as he does. "Maybe we should dance or something. I know I said I don't really, but. I could make an exception for you."

[hippie_ninja]

"Be a lot easier for me to bring you breakfast in bed if you're still in my bed in the morning," he agrees. And, with a little grin, "Yes, I want to dance with you."

Jesus has always been light on his feet, whether it's practicing jeet kune do and kicking walkers to death, or leaping out of a moving van, or just finding his way through simple dance steps. He likes how it feels to move and loves even more when he gets to move in tandem with someone else.

"Remember that time we slow danced in my room?" He laughs a little and it's genuinely warm as he ducks his head, hands sliding up along the curve of the other man's back. Somehow, they've been creating moments— memories with one another and he's not sure how or when that happened... but also can't bring himself to stop either.

Tilt of his head, he smiles a little. "You're gonna have to pick the music this time."

He steps back but he draws his hands along John's arms to his wrists to his fingertips and pulls him further into the room.

"Yeah I've been looking. It's hard here, everything's got lyrics and...well, you know how the lyrics go." All sex, all the time. "But I have a few songs I think we could make work."

[fireshow]

"Yeah?" He follows along with a gentle curiosity but no hesitation. "Gonna keep them as a surprise until the countdown begins?"

[hippie_ninja]

"Well." A sheepish grin. A shrug. "I am now. I was going to try to bribe you into dancing with me again once I had a good enough song."

[fireshow]

"What— right now?" He laughs a bit, eyeing him suspiciously. "I didn't know you liked slow dancing with me that much."

[hippie_ninja]

"Not now," he chuckles. "Now I'm saving it for New Year's. I didn't know you'd be so willing to do it again. I got to use what you taught me, by the way--I dipped Rosita at a Thanksgiving party. She'll have to thank you for teaching me how to not drop her."

[fireshow]

"Thanksgiving party, huh?" He raises a brow but gives a huff of laughter as he shakes his head. "Forgot that was a thing people did."

[hippie_ninja]

"So did I, but a few friends ran with it." And Jesus had cautiously accepted an invitation, fully expecting the usual fights and the usual stressors. "I hadn't been to one in years. Even before the world fell apart."

[fireshow]

"Yeah. I don't really remember the last time I was really present for one." Where he felt like he belonged. Not about to let himself fall down that rabbit hole of despair, he looks up to Jesus instead. "Had a good time?"

[hippie_ninja]

"My friend had a rule where no one was allowed to fight, which actually worked. It was great. Maybe next year you can be there, if you want...?"

Because truth be told, John not being there had sat uneasily in his mind.

[fireshow]

"Maybe." He doesn't bother to make any promises because, well. Making those here is pointless, never mind the fact that John himself isn't always big on family gatherings. "Gotta still be here for that first."

[hippie_ninja]

"Plan for the worst," he says, kisses him softly. "Hope for the best. Just means I'll be inviting you to more things while I have you."

[fireshow]

"While you have me, huh?" He can't help the smile at that, gently moving in a little closer, licking over his lips then. "Looks you have me right now, so."

[hippie_ninja]

"Yeah?" He pulls John a little closer. "Can I fuck you, then?"

[fireshow]

Hum on his lips, he noses at Jesus, eyes soft despite the flicker of amusement there within them. "That what you want, baby?"

[hippie_ninja]

"I always seem to want you. Haven't you noticed?" He chuckles, soft, not quite kissing him but certainly close enough that he could.

[fireshow]

Unable to stop himself from grinning, he bites on his own bottom lip then and noses at Jesus a little more. "I guess. But maybe because the feeling's mutual." And he smiles a little more at that. "How do you want me this time, baby? Anything you've been dying to try?"

[hippie_ninja]

"You on your back, your legs on my shoulders. So I can get just that deep," he murmurs, lips brushing John's.

[fireshow]

Well then.

"Mm, baby. That's fucking hot. Of course you can have me that way." And this is where he chooses to kiss him, deepening it a little as he moves a little with him in that apartment.
