How do you do that? Is it something you have to think about or is it as easy as walking?

Both.

[ He answers honestly, slipping his hands into his pockets. ]

I manipulate fire. Control its temperature, make shapes out of it. I can even sense when there's fire around. I'm a mutant.

No. I can't buy anything. I'll steal us some because I like you, not because I'm thanking you. Hand to God.

[ It's said with his own huff of laughter before he gestures. ]

Tastes better with a little crime.

[Stealing coffee is not as easy as it sounds. It involves more talking than Jesus likes to do in his heists.

But he manages it: two hot paper mugs of coffee for the two of them from a cafe that isn't all that friendly to LIERs]

[ He waits around while Jesus goes and Does His Thing and when he makes good on that whole stolen coffee thing, John just huffs a laugh to himself, shake of his head as he reaches out to take one. ]

Well, damn. Guess that means I don't gotta come save your ass, fires ablazin'.

If I'd known that was an option I would have let them catch me.

[He does enjoy watching John play with fire]

[ He's pretty good at it, so. Grin around the rim of the cup, he shrugs. ]

[ Because that's a stupid thing to do around here as far as he's concerned. ]

Guess we'll just have to see.

[The future, long or short term, is a hard thing to have much faith in. Jesus is famous for stubbornly believing in it, though.]
